LeShéa Agnew is a national, award-winning broadcast journalist and audio engineer serving as Director of Creative Content and Development for Dream Push Music Group.
For more than a decade, Agnew has served on both sides of the microphone mentoring and aiding in the development of countless artists and sound board operators around the country. She scouts and secures rising talent, manages established artists, maintains connections to top radio and audio production companies, and develops music based curriculum and opportunities for students of Dream Push University.
Agnew began her career as an anchor, reporter and producer for NPR-affiliate WFDD in her hometown of Winston-Salem, NC. She made history in her roles winning several regional and state awards for audio production, features and packages. Prior to recently relocating to St. Louis, Agnew hosted and produced a two hour live, call-in radio show for a NPR/PBS-affiliate in New York. She focused heavily on racial inequity in mainstream music, groundbreaking composition, community support, cultural connection, theatrical productions and promoting artists and their creations. Some of her many exclusive interviews include Dr. Maya Angelou, Common, David Banner, bell hooks, Trayvon Martin’s father and Hill Harper.
A published poet, award-winning writer, classically trained actress and artist; Agnew is no stranger to the stage or artistic expression. A native of North Carolina, Agnew graduated from Salem College (the country’s oldest women’s college) in 2008 with a degree in Mass Communication. The daughter of a poet and playwright, she began honing her craft at a young age on stages in NC, New York and St. Louis; winning several contests for Best Poet.
Agnew is also dedicated to sharing and spreading traditional healing arts; she is a national medalist and instructor of Hunyuan Taijiquan (Tai Chi) and Qi Gong in St. Louis and neighboring Illinois. Agnew will introduce mindful expression and musical composition to artists and producers in the Dream Push Music Group family, furthering their reach and artistic impact on mainstream music.
